The Theatre for Performing Arts,
Liverpool, recently opened by Paul McCartney, was a challenge when it came to
ironmongery. The architect, Brock Carmichael Associates, realised that with over 300 doors
including acoustic, timber, uPVC, reproduction and so forth, special care would have to be
taken to ensure all ironmongery was compatible in each instance.
Also, a mix of various manufacturers' products was required
which could not necessarily be sourced most competitively from one supplier. AHC was
engaged to write specifications using products from 'Elementer' and other ranges. These
were then sourced through Elementer and a local ironmongery supplier by split orders. |
Mowlem Construction considered the Theatre of the
Arts in Llandudno an ideal project to use the services of AHC, which was to
liaise with architect Ellis Williams Partnership, and produce a door-by- door computerised
schedule of ironmongery for some 200 doors.
At the request of contractors Balfour Beatty Construction and
architects RMJM London Ltd the services of AHC were engaged for the procurement of
ironmongery on the prestigious Lincoln University Complex involving
stainless steel fittings to many types of door.
Following the successful completion of the Velodrome project
Amec called on the services of Don Lund to help overcome what was a difficult situation on
the Liverpool Womens Hospital project. |
